REVIEW- MAYBELLINE FIT ME DEWY & SMOOTH FOUNDATION

Cosmetics, Makeup, Skin care

Hi my lovelies,

Today I have here ANOTHER foundation review for you. Yes yes, I have been going a bit crazy lately with my make-up spending and now have a whole heap of foundations to try and review. EXCITING FOR BOTH YOU AND I πŸ˜€

Today ill be giving my honest opinion on the (recently) new Maybelline fit me dewy & smooth foundation.

IMG_8705

Now I got this on sale a couple of weeks ago at chemist warehouse for around about $10AUD (in the half price sale) in the shade 115- Ivory.

I had heard many mixed reviews about this product so I figured why not give it a go myself. I have to say and I really didn’t want to dislike this product but I found it to be horrible 😦

Now, if you have read my blog for a while you know Maybelline is by far my favourite drug store product so when I find something I dislike within their product range it upset’s me. Hopefully it’s not disliked by everyone.

I tested this foundation for over a week and it made my skin break out completely and I found that after wearing it for a day of work I’d go home looking all shiny and sweaty. Now I hate looking like im all shiny and my make-up feels like it isn’t up to standard if I am. I thought at first it may be the weather but I haveΒ tried this in both cold and hot circumstances and both times I end up with the same results.

IMG_8707

Also another thing I disliked about this foundation (and it may be something as small and silly as this) but I really struggle to use foundations that come without pumps included and open tops like this. PLEASE MAYBELLINE GIVE ME THAT PUMP INCLUDED. I also believe its a great selling point, I always hesitate to buy foundations without pumps or applicators on them. I just know how annoying and messy they will be and application just seems like a hassle.

I find it hard to use and very messy when applying to my face as there is no control on how much spills out of the bottle and goes onto the brush or skin.

IMG_8706
Does anyone know any online store’s that sell make-up foundation pumps at all for cheap? Or know any retail stores? HELP ME

What are your thoughts on this? Do you love it or hate it? How did you make it work for you?

I have also picked up the Matte version of this so hopefully some better results and reviews coming up for you! I’m excited to test all my newest products and hope you’re looking forward to reading them!

Also ill be posting my make-up routine with details in the next coming week or two. Is there anything in particular you would like to see?

L’OREAL PARIS – INFALLIBLE 24 HOUR MATTE FOUNDATION REVIEW!

Beauty, Cosmetics, Makeup, Skin care

IMG_8696

FIRST IMPRESSIONSΒ – L’OREAL PARIS INFALLIBLE MATTE FOUNDATION

Hey guys, sorry its been a while since my last blog post! Things have been crazy between moving house and starting a new job. But don’t fear, we have a new blog post here!

This is my first impression and review on the recently new L’oreal Paris matte foundation. Now the first reason I actually picked this up and purchased it is becauseΒ I haveΒ seen nothing but crazy rants and raves about it. Secondly BIGW have just finished at 50% off L’oreal sale, so this only cost me $14.95 as opposed to $30. I ended up going back the next day and picking up another…..SO I GOT TWO FOR THE PRICE OF ONE!!! WINNER WINNER.

IMG_8703

Firstly, lets just say I haven fallen absolutely head over heels in love with this foundation. The texture and application to your face is unbeatable, the foundation itself isn’t too runny and the nozzle applicator is easy to use and mess free. Blended quickly and evenly this foundation leaves my skin feeling light but still gives me full coverage withΒ an airbrushed finish.

IMG_8698

Now I picked this up in the shade Radiant Beige, which for me is a little to dark but coming into the summer time it will match great with a tan! (whether the tan is real or fake :P)

If you are looking for a full coverage foundation at a reasonable cost then I do highly recommend this as a drug store foundation, that little bit of extra cash on this really pay off, If you can find it on sale then stock up too!

IMG_8697

IMG_8700

Here is a swatch of the foundation squeezed onto my hand. As you can see you can control how much you put on and the small nozzle creates an effortless application process.

What is described on the back of this product is exactly what you get. Full coverage with a light to medium texture, which is what we all search and long for when buying foundations.

Who else loves this? What are your thoughts?

If you have this on your wishlist and you’re unsure whether or not to purchase I say do it! You wont regret it.

I have a few more foundation reviews up and coming and also a few new products that I am currently trying. Keep your eyes peeled!

Till next time.

My new found love for SWOP βοΈπŸ’ž

Beauty, Cosmetics, Makeup, Skin care, Uncategorized

Now everyone these days loves a good old op shop right? I mean cmon who doesn’t love vintage and modern apparel at a fraction of the cost?

Sometimes I’m in awe at how people give away clothes that are just so SASSY AND RAD but who the hell cares it means we can get our hands on it right? πŸ˜‚

I’ve recently stumbled and fell in love with an Adelaide store called SWOP which was originally started in Queensland and now has a second location in Adelaide.

Located on the famous Hindley Street Swop shop is a clothing exchange selling modern and vintage apparel. Now like most people I was thinking it would be like most other op shops just any brand, any name wear for a $1 or more, I was wrong and I’m glad I was.

I soon fell in love with the concept and fashion this shop holds.

Adelaide store manager Emily also makes every trip into Swop a unique one everytime, giving out great customer service and conversation to all customers that enter. Once you go down the stairs you enter heaven, literally. This shop holds all brands from miss shop, Adidas, sfida and more. So whether you’re looking for a cute little top for a night out or a dope winter jacket. Emily will have it in store.

But that’s not even the best part about it all. Every Friday they do a swop day from 10am to 5pm where you can take in your old ‘swag’ and apparel and literally SWOP it for money or store credit. Crazy right? I don’t think I’ve missed a Friday swop day since I found this a month ago. How it works is you can either take 25% cash for what they will sell it for or 50% in store credit. So either way you walk out a happy little larry with a bit of extra cash or some great new apparel. I personally take store credit EVERYTIME and literally only shop here as of late and since I’ve gotten plenty of complements on what I am wearing and people asking where I got my outfits from. GURLLLL GO SWOP, YOU WILL NOT REGRET.

Here’s some shots from inside the adelaide store..

Now as you can see they don’t lack in stock at all, fresh apparel is always out and on sale each week. So whether you’re like me and you go in 2-3 times a week or once a week you’ll always find something new in SWOP.

Who’s heard of swop? Do you like the look of the clothing and the concept of the store?

Head over to their instagram account @_swop for more info and outfits and a link to their blog.

Till next time

First time trying FOA(face of Australia)

Beauty, Cosmetics, Makeup, Skin care

Hey guys. I’m so incredibly sorry it’s been so long between my posts but I have been getting back on track with life and other mishaps. Hope everyone is well and staying beautiful πŸ’ŽπŸ’ž

For a while now I’ve been contemplating whether to try the makeup brand Face of Australia, this is sold in priceline here and I’m not sure if they sell it in any other shops. I was umming and arrring for a few weeks so I plunged and picked up a lipstick (a girl can never have too many lippies)

This only cost me around $9AUD. So even if I didn’t love it I can’t complain too much about wasting money.

I picked up the shade sweet nectar because it’s such an incredible shade(almost could be another dupe for Mac velvet teddy) however I do not own velvet teddy so I cannot do a swatch side by side.

This lipstick isn’t only just a beautiful colour, it also smells absolutely Devine. It is an SPF30 lipstick and has Shea butter in it.

When applied its a lovely creamy texture and makes your lips smell like coconuts, the longevity is also another bonus to this product.

I use this almost everyday as its a neutral shade for my makeup and generally I will only reapply once or twice throughout a whole day depending on what I am doing.

Here’s a quick swatch I did in a natural light without any flash on the camera.

This is probably now ranked in my top 5 lipsticks and I cannot fault anything about it. Have you tried FOA? What are the other products like?

I’d love to hear what you guys think of this brand and if the swatch does compare to velvet teddy.

The packaging of this lipstick is very sleek and simple the outside is a matte finish with a clear top so you can see the colour without opening it.

What’s some new products you’ve tried lately that you’ve been surprised by?

Concealer review! 🌺

Beauty, Cosmetics, Makeup, Skin care

Hey beautiful people! Hope you’re all having a fabulous week! Today’s post is all about that concealer life! πŸ‘‘πŸ’“

So I’ve picked up a couple of concealers over the last month or so to try them out and see which is best suited to me!

L-R: Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, Rimmel London stay matte, Maybelline Superstay Better Skin and Maybelline Dream lumitouch.

So I just did a quick swatch to help you guys see the texture and colour of these better.

So first up in order of the swatches above is the Nars radiant creamy concealer.

Now I picked this up from my local Mecca Cosmetica store for $35 and I got it in the shade vanilla. I got a lighter shade then my foundation as I use this for highlighting under my eyes also. This was the most recommended when I asked you guys which high end concealer I should buy. THANKYOU, THIS IS LIFE! You only need a small amount and texture of it is creamy and it applies so well, it doesn’t leave me any creases under my eyes and stays on all day. There is not a bad thing I can say about this product really, but if you are looking for a great concealer then get this. The money really pays off, I generally only use this when I’m heading out or I have a big day where I want my makeup to hold. So it should last me for a while at least! I rate this 9/10 πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

Next is Rimmel London stay matte concealer.

This is a dual action concealer as you can see the swatch has a tint of green which is meant to hide blemishes. I only picked this up as it was $5 at woolworths and I haven’t really tried any Rimmel products before. Now I’m not really a fan of this at all, it may just be me but I don’t like matte concealer I found it hard to blend and it came out all dark and looked dry 😦 has anyone else used this? I’m happy it was cheap and overall not a fan of this. I rate this 4/10 πŸ’”

Next is the maybelline Superstay better skin concealer.

Now I think I picked this up during a chemist warehouse 50% off sale just to try out. I paid around $6/7 I believe, I got it in a light shade. Now the formula I find very runny and you have to apply a lot to achieve the coverage you want. Now this isn’t ideal for me because then I just feel like I’m caked up and stuck blending that one spot for far too long. I have tried using it a few different ways and cannot seem to make it work for me, anyone else used this? Let me know in the comments! Overall I give it a 6/10 πŸ‘‘

Next is the Maybelline lumi touch highlighting concealer.

GURLLLL THIS IS MY HOLY GRAIL! Dunno if you can see from the tube but this gets used a lot! I first found this when I was watching a YouTube video by Britney Lee Saunders and ended up picking it up at the chemist warehouse sale also, It was around $10 more or less. I use this everyday and it’s incredible from the twist top to the formula. I apply it to my under eyes and it covers all my dark circles and also highlights, this is exactly what I want in a concealer! For a great drugstore find this is what you need girls! It’s perfect! I rate it 10/10 πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

What’s your favourite concealer? Have you tried or do you use any of the ones listed above? Let me know!

Top 4 drugstore mascaras

Beauty, Cosmetics, Makeup, Skin care

Hey guys! Happy Sunday and happy long weekend to my fellow Aussies! πŸŽ‰πŸ’“πŸ¦

Just wanted to share my favourite drugstore mascaras with you guys today and see what you use and what you recommend!

From top to bottom: maybelline colossal Volum’ express smokey eyes, covergirl full lash bloom, maybelline great lash and australis voluptulash mascara.

I’ll review each product in order of listing so there is no confusion πŸ™‚

So first is the Maybelline colossal volum’ express smokey eyes mascara.

This is my EVERYDAY mascara, I’m absolutely in love with this one. I picked this up randomly from priceline as it was on a 30% off sale and I regret nothing. It really does what it says, creates a smokey eye and lifts your lashes to their full length. I recommend this if you don’t want to wear false lashes but still want to have a dramatic lash look. I have small eyelashes so anything that helps make them longer is a winner to me! I rate this a 9/10 πŸ’“

Next is the Covergirl full lash bloom mascara.

Now I only picked this up as it was on sale at a intro price of $10AUD so I saved $8 and the lady in priceline was raving about how great it was and how only two coats and you have full long lashes. I didn’t believe her so I got home and tried, now maybe it’s me but I applied a few more then 2 coats to get full lashes but this mascara is good and has a great brush to help seperate your lashes when applying! I’m not sure if I would buy this again but it was a great pick for $10. I rate this 6/10. πŸ’

Next is Maybelline great lash mascara.

I think I have a thing for maybelline and it could quite possibly be my favourite drugstore brand! What’s yours? This is probably my second favourite mascara that I opt for when I want good looking lashes. It doesn’t clump your lashes and it’s in the shade blackest black so you’ll always have an intense darker eye(depending on how you apply) this has been one I have repurchased a few times because I just cannot fault it or how it applies. I generally apply 3 coats and I’m satisfied with the look. I rate this 8/10 πŸ’ž

Last but not least Australis voluptulash mascara.

Now I find Australis products very hit and miss. Some I love and some I just cannot love at all. This sadly is one, I picked this up on a 3 for 2 sale at priceline and I really really tried to make it work and I just couldn’t. The brush is hard and plastic and hurts my eyes to apply it almost scrapes my eyelashes off. Not much product appears on the brush however when you apply its very wet and thick and takes a while to dry. I really can’t say much about this product but I will not repurchase 😦 πŸ’” rate this 4/10.

What’s you’re favourite holy grail drugstore find?

My skin care routine & Giveaway winner!! πŸŽ‰

Beauty, Cosmetics, Makeup, Skin care, Uncategorized

Hey guys! Happy WEDNESDAY πŸŽ‰ AND DAMN ITS JUNE ALREADY? I’ll be 24 one month from today, yay!

Firstly just wanted to thankyou so much to everyone that entered my giveaway. A winner was chosen and was contacted yesterday!

The lucky girl was http://www.doaner-fide.com I contacted her via her instagram and her package is being sent out today πŸ’ž make sure you go follow her instagram also @doaner_fide for amazing beauty posts! She’s also holding her own giveaway at the moment 😍

You guys are seriously amazing, your feedback and love on my blog is truely beautiful. I’ve hit my first goal on my blog and within a month and half have reached 500 followers! Never did I think this would happen so quickly now my goals are bigger then ever! thankyou all πŸ’ž

Now enough of me being all soppy haha… Onto my skin care routine, this has been requested on my Instagram by a few people so I thought I’d share it with you all!

So this is my night time wind down before bed routine as I usually have a full face of makeup to remove also.

Firstly I tie up my hair, usually into some huge looking birds nest on the top of my head.  It normally looks like this

Then I take a swisspers cotton pad and my garnier micellar water and pour a drop onto the pad and sweep across my face. Now I’m not saying one wipe and bam all my makeup is off, I tend to use 2-3 cotton pads for complete removal. THIS WATER IS LIFE BTW.

Once I’ve removed my makeup I wet my face with Luke warm water and apply a small amount of the St Ives apricot scrub into the palm of my hand and very gently apply to my face. Now I don’t scrub too hard with this as it can be rough if you do. Just gently massage onto face and rinse of with warm water when desired and pat face lightly with a towel to dry.

Then I move onto my Neutrogena extra gentle cleanser. Now this for me just adds moisture back into my face and soothes my skin. As before wet face with Luke warm water and apply a small amount to Palm of hand and gently massage into face. Once complete rinse with Luke warm water and pat dry with towel.

After this step my face is feeling refreshed but I always like to make sure to add a little moisture to it still as during the colder seasons my skin tends to dry out a little. I just use a small amount of garnier moisturiser to my whole face and massage untill my skin has soaked it in.

What do you use for skincare products? Any recommendations?

Chichi Cosmetics lipstick πŸ˜

Beauty, Cosmetics, Makeup, Skin care

HAPPY WEEKEND TO ALL YOU BEAUTYS ALL OVER THE BEAUTIFUL WORLD πŸ’Ž πŸ’œ 🍦

As we do, I went shopping on the weekend I didn’t pick up too much stuff but I did go to target and take advantage of 30% off chichi cosmetics!

Now I’ve heard and seen over the Internet and instagram that the shade I got is a “dupe” for Macs velvet teddy (which is impossible to get) because it’s just so gorgeous 😍

So I picked up the viva la diva cream lipstick in the shade O.M.NUDE. These lipsticks usually retail for around $18 AUD however I did get 30% off so I paid around $13 for this lipstick, winner winner! I’ve been eyeing this lippie off for a while so I finally just caved, I love SALES! πŸ‘―πŸ’

Here’s a swatch just in a natural light, I’m in love. I don’t personally own Velvet teddy so I cannot compare but what do you guys think? Is it similar?

Even if it isn’t what we lovers of beauty called a dupe. How unreal and gorgeous is this shade?

The packaging is very sleek and has a matte finish with pink print. It has a great texture and applies well, you only need a coat or two and you’re set. As for reapplying over the day, I’m not sure as of yet but I’ll review that in an upcoming product review post.

This far from what I’ve seen and used of this product I can rate it a 8/10 happily!

Chichi cosmetics have some beautiful makeup girls, do you use any?

There’s a few days left to enter my giveaway if you haven’t as of yet. Thankyou all for the support on my blog. 1 month on here and almost at 500 followers, I appreciate everyone of you guys!
